47 ASHES - 'Ragnarokaraoke' CDR (Melek)

After releasing a series of five limited (47 copies!) maxi CDRs, 'Ragnarokaraoke' is the first full-length album from the French project 47 ASHES. Hybrid crossbreeds of neofolk/industrial and pop references such as 'Abracadabraxas', Chthonic-O-Matics... Frater Saint Pierre sure has a particular sense of humour. The music is based on harsh loops mixed with basic sound samples recorded on a mini-disc. If you think you would enjoy NON with a French touch, then this is a record for you.

AMBIENCE - 'Ciclos' CDR (Void Rekordz)

One long track (just under 40 minutes). Keyboards/pianos mixed with repetitive percussion and strings give this a soundtrack feel. Re-issue of an extremely rare cassette (ltd x 50) on the Russian label YAO – from the mastermind behind YAO 91404 D. Now released in an even more limited CDR edition of 40 hand-numbered copies! Deep analogue harsh industrial noise with howling feedback - think early SPK. Consists entirely of sounds of electricity plugged into a human body! Another catacomb project from Leningrad. This CDR contains all the tracks from tapes that were released by YAOP, except the ‘Electroorganics’ track. As a bonus, it has a sick, voice and synth session that took place during Summer 2005. Mind-erasing over-compressed harsh shit-noise made of radio-noise, prepared toys, fucked-up samples, voices, etc. Involves a member of YAO 91404 D. Debut mini CD-R from Axone. An excellent presentation of three fantastically dark pieces, reminding me a little of early TEST DEPT, with recorded voices, electronic darkness, and scraping factory-like excesses. Really nice piece, and highly recommended. 20 minutes of music.
