47 ASHES - 'Ragnarokaraoke' CDR (Melek)

After releasing a series of five limited (47 copies!) maxi CDRs, 'Ragnarokaraoke' is the first full-length album from the French project 47 ASHES. Hybrid crossbreeds of neofolk/industrial and pop references such as 'Abracadabraxas', Chthonic-O-Matics... Frater Saint Pierre sure has a particular sense of humour. The music is based on harsh loops mixed with basic sound samples recorded on a mini-disc. If you think you would enjoy NON with a French touch, then this is a record for you.

AAL - 'Disc 1 + Inherited And Partially Transmitted' 2 x CDR (AFE Records)

"Disc 1" and "Inherited and Partially Transmitted" were recorded by aal during 2001 and released in few copies as private editions by the artist himself. Both albums were remastered and given a new artwork for this release. "Disc 1" can be seen as a Deep Space Soundtrack: warm, melancholic cosmic drones, like looking at a starlit nightsky from behind a window, in the coldest hours of winter and was partly inspired by Stanislaw Lem's masterwork "Solaris" Passionately staring inward, "Inherited and Partially Transmitted" can be seen as an Inner Space Soundtrack with darker drone textures over which unearthly sounds, sourced from guitar and flutes, dance, twirl and crackle. Limited to 150 copies in a professionally printed sleeve.

AMBIENCE - 'Ciclos' CDR (Void Rekordz)

One long track (just under 40 minutes). Keyboards/pianos mixed with repetitive percussion and strings give this a soundtrack feel. Not the ‘calm ambient’ music as the label describes, but more of an upbeat and quite repetitive journey with a few surprises along the way! A hypnotic journey into oniric realms. Ltd x 100.

ANGEL OF DECAY - 'Bleeding On The Flowers' Pro-CDR (BloodLust!)

CDR edition of the out-of-print cassette (2007, ltd x 50 copies). Angel of Decay is Jonathan Canady (Deathpile, Blunt Force Trauma). For this project, he focuses on "heavy experimental electronics created using vintage analog synths and other out of date equipment". Heavier and more raw than "Covered in Scars (2005)", this is the perfect follow-up to the "Radio Brain Damage" 7" (2006). 'Scorpion Milk' consists of a single album length track, which is best absorbed in a meditative state with minimum outside interference. It is truly a "Mirror Noir" to the album itself - its shadowy companion, the candle-bearer who responds to no call but silence itself. The music can be likened to a dark well, the oily surface of which not only reflects the phantasms of mind recalled through participation in the "Mirrorion" cycle, but is occasionally broken by scorpionic surges of primal Power invigorating the act of contemplation.
